Intro

On May 6, 2022 Sine Music will release the new EP “Passion” by SFERIX. The EP contains five tracks and will be available at all known download and streaming portals. After his last release in 2020 („Take Me Home“), SFERIX is back now and creates with his new EP “Passion” a well-done mixture of relaxed pop with downtempo hints, drum ’n‘ bass and catchy midtempo dance floor stuff.

„Every day new impressions can be gathered, either in ourselves or in our personal environment. These impressions are transformed into inspiration, which resulted in the name of the EP with a lot of passion for music: Simply … Passion,“ says SFERIX.

He produced the complete EP in his home studio near Murnau in Upper Bavaria. “Passion” offers many genre attributes and moods.

„Don’t Walk Away“ is the first track on the EP and tells about a very personal detail of SFERIX’s life when his father was sick and emotions seem to be on a rollercoaster. It was important to SFERIX that this song reflects emotional depth. The beginning of the chorus is quite calm until the rhythm turns into a faster, hopeful beat, before fading back into wider synth spheres.

„I Miss You“ is a thoughtful reflection about growing older. Even though you’ve reached midlife and you are still able to dance, party and enjoy your life, sometimes you long back for the old days when you have been young. This drum ’n‘ bass track has two sonic layers: one with driving youthful energy, the second layer delivers a sweet flattering melancholy.

„Go Slow“ is SFERIX’s invitation to you to do a detox. We always want or need to be always-on so everyone can access us for whatever reason – „Go Slow“ makes you slow down, puts you in a state of inner peace and brings your heartbeat back to a tolerable relaxed level.

SFERIX Passion 800

„Solaris“ is a hyme to sunny warmth, gentle sunny rays, cheerfulness and companionship. At the same time, „Solaris“ is an ode to SFERIX’s wife, who is called „Sunny“ by many close friends and keeps the whole family together with her sunny smiling ways. The musical realization with floating, synth fair weather clouds bathes this scenery in beautiful warm summer evening light.

„Forward“ is almost something like poetry turned into music with a very strong expressiveness. Driving Deep House beats and slightly melancholic melodies try to provide you with strength to overcome the anxious and frightened standstill, give you the strength to go on, to move on – to move forward with positive thoughts. Especially in these turbulent times, when we feel like staggering through time, „Forward“ is meant to guide you through a tunnel of sound that is luminous and powerful at the end.

The Bottom Line

Admittedly, SFERIX’s new 5-track EP „Passion“ may come across as a bit commercial, but it has nothing to do with easy-listening, middle-of-the-road or other musical shallows. Passion is arranged with great dedication and an immensely easy loveliness. SFERIX packs a lot of itself into each of the tracks and garnishes the whole thing with beautiful musical fair-weather clouds.

I repeatedly catch myself bouncing my foot along to the sound and notice with amazement how very pleasant this casually relaxed mixture is coming along. With Passion, SFERIX gives us 17:56 minutes to take a long breath and projects a soothing soundtrack to a gorgeous spring evening on our lake-view porch.

The EP comes in 24 bit / 44.1 kHz format and sounds perfect over the entire frequency range.
