Review:

On Friday, July 29, 2022 Glint has released his new EP „Five“ on Sine Music. This 5-track EP will be available on all popular download and streaming portals..

„Five“ will get you grooving right from the start. In the EP’s opener, „Lake Loop,“ Glint brings 80s neo buzz vibes to life in here and now. It sounds like Glint is sending us on a trip down memory lane with the best musical memories of our lives.
Glint’s affinity and adaptive fable for groovy sounds has been evident in his previous releases, such as „Lovin‘ Movin'“.

Glint

On „Five,“ he keeps the grooviness, yet returns to his chillout roots in part in the song „Lazy Tuesday.“ When was the last time you indulged in a „Lazy Tuesday“?
„Philter Phun“ consists of haunting and extravagant filter sequences. The filters playfully push you forward and then backward, only to start all over again.

„U Turn“ was the first single off this EP and sounds like the title track to a never aired Miami Vice episode with Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs, with stylish clothes and an equally stylish speedboat slipping over the waves into the Miami sunset.

You can always feel Glint’s attention to detail on the melodic „Ballad for Lenny,“ which exudes a jazzy, mysterious atmosphere.

The Bottom Line

Glint’s releases are among the best that the thrilling Sine Music label from Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest has to offer. His new EP „Five“ has a certain magical power and refers on the one hand back to the groovy livestyle of the 80s, but without losing himself in musical nostalgia. Rather, he spans the bow referring to a time in which life seemed to be easier and more carefree, Miami Vice says hello, as Crocett and Tubbs glide light as a feather with the speedboat into the Miami sunset. At the same time, Gint’s groovy sound is always up to date.

Glint succeeds with his latest work to awaken memories of sounds that you as a listener and music fan once loved and adored and that you immediately after the run through the EP necessarily want to put on again and play. Like, for example, the groovy album Masterpiece from Level 42 with the same title from 1981.

That’s a long time ago, but thank God we have Glint and his very own and contemporary groovy sounds, that let us groove through the 80s like riding in a time machine, only to bring us back to the bridge „Back to the Future“ in the end.
Conclusion: „Five“ is immense fun and is highly recommended.

The EP is available with 24 Bit / 44.1 kHz in H-res format and sounds – as so often with the releases of Sine Music – excellent across the entire frequency range.
