Intro

On 30.09.2022 Christiane Dehmer released her EP „Together“ on her own label Creative Heart Music, the 6-track EP is available on all known streaming platforms. „Together“ is the English language version of her german EP „Zusammen“, already released in October 2020.

Preface

This review also took a frighteningly long time and needed a total of three attempts until it was ready for publication. Writer’s block is what they call it, I think. The day before I wanted to review the sensational Cercle gig of Carlita at the Cinecittà in Rome, but I couldn’t get over some incomplete fragments, which I cannot publish as they are.

For this review it worked out in the third attempt by using a rope trick while quietly running my playlists from Nora En Pure in the background. But now to the review.

Review

„We need to stay together worldwide and walk hand in hands through challenging times,“ Christiane Dehmer says. Going through challenging times together is so important to the pianist, singer and composer that she has released 6 songs for this purpose in her EP entitled „Zusammen“. With textual and musical depth she tells from her experience of sticking together in difficult times. It is music that is deeply moving and touching, that releases hope and broadens the positive view of the future.

Christiane is continuously developing her music. Having started her jazz piano studies with piano solo and a trio album as a pianist and singer, she skillfully and sensitively expands her intuitive and powerful piano playing with sounds from synthesizers, and can now be heard on piano and other keyboard instruments singing the songs of her EP „Together“.

Cohesion is incredibly important in these times worldwide. Therefore Christiane Dehmer has written the EP „Togehter“ with songs for the cohesion, for the cohesion between us in the private sphere, cohesion for us in the nation, cohesion for us as human beings in this world.

She originally released these 6 songs in German as the EP „ZUSAMMEN“ in October 2020. But time moved on and, except for perhaps a few relationships in the private sphere, nothing had changed to the better, quite the opposite. In the face of the ever-increasing suffering on this planet, the soul of our world incessantly sends many silent cries into the ether.

Christiane felt that it is now important that these songs can be understood internationally. That’s why she recorded and published these songs in English. Because that is exactly what we all need right now in these challenging times of crisis worldwide: Cohesion.

The Bottom Line

With „Togehter“ Christiane Dehmer has launched six authentic songs for hope and good moods for all of us. It is colorful pop, which comes here and there in a slightly jazzy summer garb and is mainly determined by Christianes’s pearly unmistakable piano lines, joined by the shining bright vocals of Chris.

With textual and musical depth Christiane tells from her experience of holding together in difficult times. It is music that moves and touches, expresses hope and opens a positive view into the future.
The files are available to me in Hi-Res format native with 24 bits / 96 kHz and sound intoxicatingly good over the entire frequency range.

Christiane and I have known each other since the release of her album „Little Journey – Piano Cycles“ in 2008, and she is a close friend, who is almost part of the family. Incidentally, without Chris, WaterDomeMusic would never have existed. For a long time I discussed with her in May 2020 how to best place WaterDomeMusic, at that time the project was still called MusicArtistSupport, and get it running.
When Christiane writes songs about cohesion, these are not empty words from her, rather this is Christiane’s philosophy of life, which she lives day by day and filling it with meaning.
